Around 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events impacted the region, producing wind gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage
Residents observed giant hailstones as large as seven centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts verified that different parts across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

State Emergency Services received 598 calls for help across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along significant areas of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was forecast to be the most rainy day, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across various areas of both states.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the current weather patterns.
