Demonstrations Mount In Opposition to Trump’s Agenda and Rhetoric
Trump’s arrival has triggered backlash from various quarters in the UK, with the Stop Trump Coalition organizing a demonstration in Windsor on Tuesday and scheduling a further rally in the heart of the capital on Wednesday.
A leading official claimed the US president of fueling the flames of divisive, radical politics around the globe in the past few years.
The same individual stated that the president’s deployment of the military in US cities and targeting of marginalized groups resembled tactics taken from the authoritarian’s handbook.
The official emphasized that while maintaining strong ties with the US is practical, the UK should not hesitate to speak out against a leader who advances divisive policies.

At the same time, around 70 demonstrators assembled near Windsor Castle, carrying placards and shouting phrases such as “No to Trump” and “he is unwanted in Britain”.

A Windsor resident said that while not protesting, they believed the public dissent reflected the opinions of the majority in the UK, stating that the state visit seemed designed to appease Trump rather than represent public sentiment.
