Chopper Spins Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Coast
An aircraft hovering over a popular coastal beach suddenly commenced twirling uncontrollably, eventually losing altitude and plunging into a cluster of palm trees as onlookers observed.
Videos posted online show the chopper beginning to twirl near the beach then descending in the direction of the perimeter of the beach, where it ends up lodged amidst palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were rushed to the hospital including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were injured. Specifics on their condition were still under review.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.

Authorities indicated the chopper was linked to an yearly “Cars with Copters” fundraising event planned for the following day.
