Charli XCX Plays a Hell Version of Her Own Identity in Fictional Documentary Teaser

Charli XCX is getting ready for a substantial film presence in 2026, starting with the mockumentary titled The Moment.

Throughout the movie, she embodies what she calls as a dark version of her public image.

It’s the realest depiction of the music business that I’ve ever seen, Charli stated.

She further explained in a discussion: This isn’t a concert film, however the inspiration originated from the expectation to create one.

A Glimpse into The Moment

The first teaser, unveiled on this week, mixes authentic footage from Charli’s Sweat tour with imagined off-stage interactions.

The mockumentary is directed and co-written by her collaborator, who shared that the narrative revolves around a world where the artist made entirely different choices during the publicity of her smash hit album Brat.

A Hectic Acting Schedule

The film is just one of several forthcoming screen roles for the star, who recently featured in three festival films in the current year.

Furthermore took on her own role in the humorous show Overcompensating.

Future Ventures

The coming year will also include the star alongside Olivia Wilde in sensual story I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in creative industry mystery The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in terror reimagining Faces of Death.

Additionally, she agreed to appear in the actress’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.

I’m deeply appreciating my acting journey, Charli stated. I feel very, very inspired right now in this area, and I always aim to pursue roles that stimulate me.

Musical Contributions

The month of February will also bring the release of Emerald Fennell’s interpretation of Wuthering Heights, which will include original songs from the singer.

She is also set to create the soundtrack for the drama Mother Mary, with Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, scheduled for release next year.

The film is scheduled to debut on the 30th of January.
